Alternatively, it's really easy to open files from the user interface. TrueView can be set up to automatically open DWG and other compatible files. Architects, engineers, and construction professionals are likely to find it a useful program. DWG TrueView is aimed primarily at professionals who take input from AutoCAD DWG or DXF drawings but don't need to edit or prepare the drawings. What is DWG TrueView used for?ĭWG is a file extension used for drawing programs, such as computer-aided design (CAD) software. Once the install is complete you can hit finish - the program will not automatically open. Installation instructions in this version are only in English, although other language versions are available. exe and follow the on-screen instructions to extract the installation files, which takes a couple of minutes.Īfter extracting the files, move onto the actual install (once you've accepted the Autodesk license and services agreement). System requirements for the latest version include Windows 10 Anniversary Update (version 1803 or higher), Windows 8.1 with update KB2919355, and Windows 7 SP1.ĭownloading Autodesk DWG Trueview for Windows couldn't be easier. Autodesk DWG Trueview 2020 is only available in 64-bit. DWG TrueView 2019, 20 are available in 64-bit and 32-bit. There have been various versions of the DWG TrueView product since 2007. something everyone can talk, something really tuned for the future not the past (dwg).DWG Trueview is a Windows-only application and it is not available for Mac operating systems. is a matter of time, or more interesting SolibriPAD. See coming ArchiViewer, AllViewer or Vectorviewer to iPad. The iPad application is interesting, but not a difficult approach. We, the users of CAD/BIM alternatives to AutocCAD already made our choice, and many are PC users (that already decided, too). don't think Nemetschek doing nothing in Vectorworks side, but can understand what's happening in the Archicad side.Īll this buzz won't produce many of the things that you think. and things that some others applications lacks, maybe they are in the right track. It's natural the marketing of Vectorworks as BIM, and Nemetschek can do it because it had Allplan, already (different to Autodesk that hasn't a BIM app), ArchiCAD came later to Nemetschek, and came with economical issues.Ĭurious that Vectorworks has walls, windows, worksheets, annotations tools, sections, terrain modeler, parking tools, space planing tools, high geometric capacity. I think Vectorworks people are the only ones that decided to make the transition from CAD to BIM (Don't know, maybe Microstation) in the real meaning. The competition isn't Vectorworks or Allplan OR Autocad, or Revit. Nemetschek needs to consolidate its development efforts. If GS has something in their pocket, it needs to be much better - and must distribute now!Īnd sadly, I have to agree with amonie. Builders won't bother to have several viewers. iPads work even ruggedized in plastic bags, you know! I've no idea if ACWS uses ordinary DWG files, but I think Graphisoft needs to make it the highest priority to give Archicad output/import file compatibility for this iOS viewer ASAP. I'm thinking this will make the iPad spread on building sites like a grassland fire. The AutoCAD WS mobile application will let AutoCAD users edit and share AutoCAD files on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch for real-time collaboration while on the go. I'm finding this is the most important announcement:Īutodesk also announced the AutoCAD WS mobile application, a new free app that will be available from Apple’s App Store. Revit would be the real threat, and is probably in the works too, but no betas have surfaced yet. But Autocad in itself is still primarily used as a 2D drawing program, and is very dependant on third-party applications, that will take time to get to the Mac. It will leverage the Mac platform and that's good. Autocad on the Mac isn't a big threat to Graphisoft.
